Lincoln Police say a woman was sliced with a knife and beaten near 28th and J Streets early Saturday morning. Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says the 29-year-old woman was taking out her trash in the alley when a middle-aged man wearing all black clothing approached her with a pocketknife and demanded money.
“He attempted to stab her, causing her to defend herself, which led to a one-inch laceration on her hand,” Thomas says. The man then struck the victim in the face multiple times, injuring her lip, forehead, mouth and cheek.
Thomas says the man left without taking anything. Thomas is asking anyone with information to call 402-441-6000. To remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600, report online at lincolncrimestoppers.com or download the free P3 app.
