Behind seven shutout innings from Will Walsh, No. 24 Nebraska baseball dominated San Diego State Sunday, winning 13-0 in Mesa, Ariz.
Walsh allowed five hits while striking out six Aztecs in seven innings, his fourth career start of at least seven innings. Carson Jasa made his Husker debut on the mound and threw the final two innings, allowing two hits and a walk while striking out two.
The Husker bats were active early and often. NU posted a run in the first, four in the second, another run in the third, two in the fifth and five in the seventh. Seven of Nebraska’s nine offensive starters had at least one hit, led by Cayden Brumbaugh, who was 2-for-5 with a double, a triple and two RBI. Will Jesske and Riley Silva were both 2-for-4 with a RBI in the No. 8 and 9 spots in the lineup, respectively. Max Buettenback hammered his first home run of the season and drove in four runs as well.
