The City of Lincoln has declared a Snow Emergency effective at 1 p.m. Monday. A snow emergency means parking is banned on both sides of emergency snow routes, arterial streets, school and bus routes.
A residential parking ban is also in effect, meaning parking is banned only on the odd numbered side of residential streets. This will assist snowplow crews in clearing neighborhood streets faster and more efficiently. A residential parking ban applies to streets that are not emergency snow routes, arterials or bus routes or included in a snow removal district.
City crews are plowing arterial routes and applying granular salt pre-wet with brine as needed. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 6:00 Monday night. Streets are snow covered and drivers should be alert for slick spots.
