A person breaking windows about 12:30 Sunday afternoon was contacted by Lincoln Police. 33-year-old Donald L. Johnson was walking northbound in the 300 block of South 48th Street armed with 2 knives and approached the initial officer yelling. The officer retreated in his vehicle.

LPD Sergeant Brian Agnew tells KLIN News a second officer gave orders to Johnson to drop the knives, however he refused to do so.

Johnson was then struck by the first officer’s cruiser. Johnson rushed the second officer with the knives before a TASER was deployed and he was taken into custody. Johnson spit on an LFR paramedic who responded to the scene.

Johnson was medically cleared at the hospital, and lodged for Attempted 2nd degree Assault on an Officer, Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony, and Assault With Bodily Fluid on an Officer.
