SkyWest Airlines to Open Maintenance Facility at LNK

By Tom Stanton Feb 12, 2025 | 3:39 PM

Lincoln Airport is adding a new maintenance facility their industrial park.  In December the Lincoln Airport’s Board of Directors approved a three-year lease agreement with SkyWest
Airlines.

The SkyWest maintenance hangar will create approximately 25 new aviation maintenance jobs along with additional support personnel in the Lincoln area. The maintenance facility will also be capable of servicing several aircraft simultaneously.

“Adding a maintenance base to LNK is a great tool to help us improve air service and one that can bring big economic benefits to our community” says David Haring, executive director of the Lincoln Airport Authority.

The expansion will further strengthen SkyWest’s maintenance operation and support their fleet that provides more than 2,300 daily flights across North America. “We are looking forward to expanding our maintenance operation with the addition of Lincoln to continue supporting SkyWest’s high standards of safety and reliability,” says Joe Sigg, SkyWest VP Maintenance.

“We also appreciate the support we’ve seen from the community and are excited to bring new opportunities for A&P mechanics to our hangar at LNK.” SkyWest maintains a fleet of nearly 500 regional aircraft. They also operate flights in and out of Lincoln for United Airlines to Chicago and Denver daily.
