As the Chiefs and Eagles vie for the title of Super Bowl Champion, the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) is urging everyone to have a gameplan for safe travel this Sunday.

Troopers are partnering with police officers across the country to monitor for impaired driving on Super Bowl Sunday. This effort is being paid for by a $5,904 grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office, coinciding with a national campaign organized by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

“Whether you’re rooting for a Chiefs’ three-peat, an Eagles’ win, or you’re just a fan of the commercials, everyone should have a plan for a sober driver,” said Colonel John Bolduc, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “If you’re traveling somewhere for the game, prepare ahead of time to have a sober driver. If you’re hosting a Super Bowl Party, don’t let impaired fans get behind the wheel.”

So far in 2025, Nebraska Troopers have made over 140 arrests for driving under the influence. Last year, NSP saw a 20% increase in DUI arrests across the state.
