While football fans cling to the edge of their seats this Sunday for Super Bowl LIX, workers at the local Lincoln pizza chain daVinci’s will be hunkered down preparing for the rush.
After 47 years in business, Chief Operating Officer (COO) for daVinci’s Joe Armstrong says they’re ready for big day.
“Super Bowl Sunday is a big day for us. We’re not the place that you would come and watch the game, but we are the place where people come to order for delivery and pick up,” Armstrong told KLIN News. “It’s crucial for us to bring in a lot of extra staff. We make everything from scratch. So it’s important that we are getting ahead on our preparation for that day, including making our fresh dough, making our fresh sauces, etc.”
He says daVinci’s is already accepting early orders, and recommends watch-party planners get those in as early as possible to ensure your Sunday goes off without a hitch.
“Make sure that you’re allowing yourself enough time. Don’t wait till the last minute to place your orders or think about what you want to do. Place your orders early. Make sure you know how many people you have coming, what you want to serve. This way your planning for success,” Armstrong added.
Many restaurants will be offering local bundles/deals, daVinci’s included. These can be a great way to save a couple bucks when preparing for the party.
Finally, and most importantly, Armstong said which team he’s pulling for, between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philiadelphia Eagles:
“Chiefs, for the three-pete,” he said — a safe answer.
Super Bowl 59 is scheduled to kick off at 5:30 p.m. CT at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. For steaming details, click here.
