Lincoln Police responded to four separate cases of shots fired this weekend, leaving behind thousands of dollars in damage.  LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says the first incident happened around 4:30 a.m.  at a home near 56th Street and Huntington Avenue.

“Officers observed damage to the brick on the north side of the building and a hole through the siding from a second bullet, causing about $250 in damage.”  Nearly four hours later officers responded to a call of gunshots heard in the area of  N. 3rd Street and Countryside Lane.

Thomas says someone reported seeing four men got into a black van and drove further into the neighborhood.  Officers checked the area but do damage or casings were found.   On Sunday around 8:00 a.m. officers responded to a belated vandalism for bullet holes in two vehicles parked outside a residence in the area of 2nd Street and Belmont Avenue.

“The victims reported hearing multiple gunshots a few hours earlier,” Thomas says.  “Investigators found numerous casings and bullet fragments inside and outside the vehicles, causing an estimated $3,000 in damage.”

Security camera video shows two vehicles drive by the residence eastbound as the gunshots were heard and then turn onto Garber Avenue.  The fourth incident happened around 1:30 Monday morning near 48th and Madison Avenue.  Police responded to the report of gunshots and found multiple casings in an alley north of the apartment complex. No damage was observed.
