Lincoln Police confirm the driver of a car that slammed into a house at 30th and Fair Street late Tuesday afternoon was speeding. “The preliminary investigation determined an 18-year-old man driving a 2017 Ford Mustang east on Fair Street accelerated and lost control and veered off the street,” says Public Information Officer Erika Thomas.
The car then struck the curb before hitting the north side of the house. “Residents were inside the home when the collision occurred and at least one occupant complained of back pain from the flying debris,” Thomas says.
The driver was not injured. Thomas says he was cited for negligent driving and for not having a driver’s license, insurance or registration. The house suffered significant damage and the residents were forced to find a temporary place to stay until structural repairs can be made.
