A Lincoln man was caught red handed trying to take money from a car wash coin machine early Monday morning. LPD Public Information officer Erika Thomas officers were called to Power Wash near NW 1st and W. Grand Drive around 5:30 a.m. on the report of a man seen on surveillance video trying to break into a wash bay coin machine.
“When officers arrived, the suspect was actively tampering with the machine with a pair of pliers in his hand,” Thomas says. “After he was taken into custody, officers found a bag in his back pocket that tested positive for amphetamines, methamphetamine and fentanyl.”
31-year-olf Tyler Harvat was arrested and taken to the Lancaster County Jail where he was booked for possession of burglar’s tools, possession of a controlled substance and criminal mischief.
