An attempted traffic stop Thursday night turned into a chaotic chase across the city from Lincoln Police and the Nebraska State Patrol Air Wing.
LPD first attempted the stop the silver sedan around 8:55 p.m. in the Belmont area but it drove off. The assistance of NSP Air was requested to provide updates as the vehicle drove erratically through yards, ran red lights and drove into oncoming traffic.
Stop sticks were attempted about 30 minutes later near Gateway Mall but were unsuccessful, and the chase was called off just after 9:30 p.m.
The vehicle was found, parked, just before 10 p.m. in a parking garage at N. 10th and ‘Q’ streets. The suspect was no where to be found, and the vehicle was found to be stolen.
Police believe the suspect got into another vehicle and left the parking garage before officers arrived.
