Students at UNL’s Architecture Hall were forced to evacuate over the noon hour after a sprinkler head broke in a basement mechanical room. Public Affairs Director Leslie Reed says at one point there was 3-4 inches of water on the floor.
“The power was shut off to the building and they’ve got the water shut off.” She says the extreme cold temperatures likely caused the pipe to break. Classes were canceled for the rest of the day while the clean up took place.
Classes are expected to resume on Wednesday.
