A Lincoln man is behind bars after the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says he used an axe to intimidate two other people Thursday night at a home near 84th and Nebraska Parkway. LSO Captain John Vik say it started as a fight between 39-year-old Nathan Hansen and two other men.
He says Hansen shoved one man and stomped on the foot of the other before using an axe to intimidate the other men. “And Mr. Hansen barricaded himself inside the residence. “We activated out Tactical Response Unit,” Vik says.
“After a search warrant was obtained for the residence, We were able to bring him out and take him into custody.” Deputies were able to safely remove the other two men from the home during the standoff.
Hansen was booked into the Lancaster County Jail for possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, terroristic threats, possession of a controlled substance, obstructing a peace officer, resisting arrest, third-degree assault and criminal mischief for damage that was caused in the home.
