Two future Nebraska volleyball players were named Gatorade Players of the Year for their respective states Thursday. Campbell Flynn captured her second straight Gatorade Player of the Year honor in Michigan, while Teraya Sigler earned her second straight Gatorade Player of the Year honor in Arizona.
A 6-3 setter from Rochester Hills, Mich., Flynn recorded 730 assists and 180 digs for Mercy High School this season. She also registered 131 kills, 52 blocks and 36 aces while hitting .394. She was named the nation’s No. 4 overall recruit and top setter in the Class of 2025 by PrepDig.com.
Sigler piled up 619 kills and 354 digs while leading Horizon High School to a state championship. The 6-2 outside hitter from Scottsdale, Ariz., led her team with 33 kills and 20 digs in the state final. Sigler was named the top recruit in the Class of 2025 by PrepDig.com.
Both players played for the U.S. U21 Women’s National Team that won the gold medal at the NORCECA Championship last summer and both competed in the Under Armour All-America game last week.
