Alexis Markowski scored a career-high 28 points to lead Nebraska to an 85-80 upset win over No. 20 Michigan State Wednesday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Markowski’s career night helped the Huskers (12-4, 2-2 B1G) erase an early 10-0 MSU (12-3, 2-2 B1G) lead and a deficit as large as 13 points in the first half.

After stumbling out of the gates, Nebraska took over in the second quarter, building a 10-point lead at halftime thanks to a 15-0 second quarter run. Allison Weidner came off the bench to score 11 points while Britt Prince added 10.

Nebraska was opportunistic, converting 18 MSU turnovers into 27 points, while Michigan State cashed in 15 Husker giveaways into 19 points, an eight-point advantage for NU. Julia Ayrault led the Spartans with 21 points, while Theryn Hallock added 18 and Grace VanSlooten scored 12.

The win was the Huskers 14th straight at home, the longest current streak in the Big Ten. Nebraska is next in action Sunday at Rutgers. Tipoff is at 1 p.m. Pregame coverage begins at 12:30 p.m. on B-107.3.
