Former Alabama offensive tackle transferring to NU

By Nate Rohr Jan 8, 2025 | 1:42 PM

Nebraska with a big commitment from college football’s transfer portal: Alabama’s Elijah Pritchett, who started 11 games at right tackle and one at left tackle, announced he’ll be a Cornhusker starting this spring. He also played eight games as a backup left tackle in 2023.  Pritchett has two years of eligibility remaining and came to Alabama as a five-star recruit. Pritchett will likely factor into the mix immediately as a starter at one of the offensive tackle spots. Bryce Benhart, tied for the school record with 60 career games played, exhausted his eligibility. Gunnar Gottula, who played left tackle most of the season, will return, but the status of Teddy Prochaska and Turner Corcoran for next year is unclear. Either or both could return from injury to play for the Huskers in 2025, and both have started on the the offensive line. Pritchett is the 15th portal commit for Nebraska this cycle.
