Lincoln Police are investigating a non-fatal stabbing and robbery from Sunday, Jan 5.

While a 29-year-old Lincoln man was taking care of a warrant at LPD Headquarters on Monday morning, Jan 6, officers noticed blood on his hand.

The victim told police he had been walking home near 11th and Furnas Avenue around 9 p.m. the night prior, when a man wearing a black ski mask, black puffy coat and jeans ran up and struck him in the head with his hand and stabbed him the upper right side of his back. The assailant then took the mans wallet and ran away.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of the stab wound that punctured his right lung.
