A new website was made available Monday allowing anyone to examine how the State of Nebraska spends and receives money.

NE State Treasurer Tom Briese
Nebraska Treasurer Tom Briese released information about the website, https://statespending.nebraska.gov/ . The site is searchable and designed to allow users to select an item and then further examine spending information or definitions of services provided by a State agency.
“On Nebraska’s State Capitol building is the inscription ‘The Salvation of the State is the Watchfulness in the Citizen’ and I couldn’t agree more. Public officials have the duty to show the public how tax dollars are spent and to answer for every cent. This revamped website will allow Nebraskans a quick, easy, and user-friendly way to keep a watchful eye on state spending,” Treasurer Briese said.
The site is also available via the Treasurer’s website and selecting ‘StateSpending.Nebraska.Gov’
