LPD Investigating Vandalism to Several Mailboxes

Lincoln Police were called to Kimberly Court and South Street just before 5:00 Thursday morning to investigate a vandalism  “Three cluster mailboxes had been run over by a vehicle, causing approximately $1,100 in damage, and four unlocked vehicles had been rummaged through,” says LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas.

None of the vehicles appeared to be damaged.  Vehicle glass was found near the mailboxes but no packages were believed to be taken. “Around 7 p.m., a stolen vehicle was recovered with damage consistent with hitting the cluster mailboxes,”  Thomas says.

It has been reported stolen on December 28 from the area of  65th and Fremont Streets, about five miles away.  The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000.
