Residents of Bennet, NE, can now sign up to receive fiber-optic internet services through ALLO Communications, the Nebraska-based company announced Monday.
This network expansion is the latest milestone in ALLO’s campaign to construct 100% fiber-optic networks in Lancaster and Seward Counties. Bennet now joins other smaller rural communities such as Sprague, Holland, Kramer, and Martell, in having a 10 GIG-enabled network that will last decades.
In a statement, ALLO says they’re aiming to make Lancaster County the most connected county in the country. The company has been working toward this goal through a partnership with Lancaster County to lease their 175-mile conduit network and grants awarded from the Nebraska Public Service Commission. Three additional Public Service Commission grants were awarded to ALLO to construct fiber in rural east Seward County. In addition to grant funds, ALLO is using private capital for a fiber-to-the-premise (FTTP) project in Garland with an estimated completion date of mid-January.
“We are extremely proud to join ALLO in this exciting announcement about bringing ultra-high-speed internet to the residents of Bennet,” said Lancaster County Board Chair Sean Flowerday. “Thanks to the public-private partnership between Lancaster County and ALLO, we continue to enhance the quality of life for our rural residents while fostering economic growth and enhancing educational opportunities throughout our community. Today’s announcement marks another impressive milestone in ensuring Lancaster County remains at the forefront of providing affordable, reliable, state-of-the-art, broadband connectivity.”
Plans are being made for additional incorporated and unincorporated communities in both counties. Find more information at AlloFiber.com/Lincoln and AlloFiber.com/Seward.
