Four people are behind bars following a police chase in a stolen SUV.  LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says around 9:15 Friday night a 42-year-old man from Chapman,
Nebraska, reported his 2014 GMC Terrain SUV had been stolen by three individuals outside Mum’s Liquor at 22nd and ‘O’ Street.

Thomas says earlier in the day the victim had picked up 27-year-old Halona Bearkiller and 33-year-old Rosemary Hart. They then drove to pick up the third suspect, 36-year-old Michael Miller. “While all were seated in the vehicle outside the liquor store, Miller told the victim he had a weapon and to get out,” Thomas says.

“Once he exited the vehicle, the three drove off in the SUV, later picking up 39-year-old Rodney Phillips.” Thomas says officers located the vehicle near 27th and ‘W’ Streets and initiated a pursuit.
“Bearkiller violated multiple traffic control signals and drove through residential areas at 65 MPH.”

The pursuit ended at 59th and Holdrege Streets where all four individuals were taken into custody.  While Bearkiller was being searched, officers found 1.3 grams of cocaine, a knife and bank cards that belonged to the victim.

Bearkiller was booked into the Lancaster County Jail for robbery, possession of controlled substance, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person and fleeing to avoid arrest.  Hart and Miller were both booked for robbery and Phillips was arrested for warrants.
