Lincoln Police say two men escaped serious injury after a road rage incident just before 9:00 Christmas night. Captain Max Hubka tells KLIN News officers were sent to an injury crash at 13th and Lake Street.
“A minute later officers were dispatched to an overturned vehicle at 13th and South Street,” Hubka says. “The investigation determined the 35-year-old driver of a white 2023 Toyota Crown was trying to get away from 33-year-old Gerald Stanley, the driver of a blue 2008 Toyota Highlander.”
Hubka says both vehicles were driving recklessly when the Highlander collided with the back of the Toyota. “The Toyota Crown hit a tree near 13th and Lake. The driver had minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital.”
Hubka says the Highlander continued to South Street where the driver attempted a westbound turn. “The Highlander hit the median and rolled onto the roof.” Stanley ran from the scene but was located by officers with minor injuries.
He was taken to the Lancaster County jail and booked for leaving the scene of an injury accident and willful reckless driving. The other driver was given a ticket for willful reckless driving. Hubka says both men are known to each other.
