VOTE NOW: City Snowplow Naming Contest Finalists

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) today announced the 25 finalists for the Name That Snowplow contest. Residents may visit lincoln.ne.gov/NameThatSnowplow to vote for the names from December 23 through January 3, 2025. The winning names will appear on eight City snowplows.

“We’re thrilled to see our community’s creativity and enthusiasm shine through in this year’s snowplow naming contest,” said LTU Director Liz Elliott. “It’s incredible to witness how much fun people are having participating and making a meaningful connection with the services that keep our city moving. Our winter operations team appreciates the community’s support and takes pride in keeping the streets safe and plowed for everyone.”

Community members submitted 467 names during the second year of the three-year contest. LTU Operations and Maintenance team members voted for the 25 finalists.

The snowplow name finalists are as follows:

LTU will announce the winners during the week of January 13, 2025. The winning names will be displayed on eight City snowplows. Winners will also receive free prizes from Lincoln Transportation and Utilities. Names of the winning participants will be shared in a news release, City of Lincoln website, and on City of Lincoln social media sites. If your snowplow name is selected, you will be notified via phone or email.
