Lincoln firefighters were called to 55th and Randolph around 3:15 Friday morning on a report of bushes on fire near a house.  “It was actually a row of large evergreen bushes,” says Public Information Officer MJ Lierman.

“They were about 30 feet long and about eight feet high and they were in flames.”  She says a passerby alerted the sleeping residents to the fire.  The flames spread to a basement window and caused about $1,000 damage.

No one was hurt and it’s not known how the fire started.
