A big night at Southeast Community College Wednesday night as the first joint academy graduation ceremony was held for Lincoln Police and Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office recruits. The 17 LPD recruits and four LSO recruits received their badges in front of family and friends.
Each recruit underwent 22 weeks physical training and are now preparing to head out onto the streets to begin protecting and serving the citizens of Lincoln. “Please know that today and everyday we’re grateful to you that you have chosen this career in public service, this chance to make a difference and provide safety and security to the people who call Lincoln home,” Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird told the new recruits.
The new officers will soon be hitting the streets for field training.
