Jack Hoffman’s Family Praying for Miracle After New Tumors Found

By Tom Stanton Dec 19, 2024 | 8:31 AM

Another setback for Jack Hoffman, a brain cancer survivor as a young child and the inspiration for the Team Jack Foundation.  His family said in a CaringBridge post that they are praying for a miracle after recent tests revealed multiple new tumors.

The family of Jack Hoffman, a brain cancer survivor and the inspiration for the Team Jack Foundation, said they are “praying for a miracle” after recent tests revealed multiple new tumors.  Jack’s mother, Brianna, shared that he was preparing for a second cycle of chemotherapy this week when a sudden illness disrupted their plans.

An initial MRI indicated possible tumor growth and further tests confirmed new tumors in his brain stem, cerebellum, ventricles and spine.  He was admitted to Children’s Hospital for a few days to manage his symptoms and has since returned home to his home in Atkinson.

Due to his current situation, Jack missed his college finals for the semester. “We are planning to see how the weekend goes and get him feeling better before we look at trying any additional treatment,”  Brianna wrote in the post.

Jack was first diagnosed with brain cancer in 2011 and led to the creation of the Team Jack Foundation.  Money raised goes for pediatric brain cancer research. The family says they are grateful for continued prayers and support.
