The Winter Market on O Street, a European-inspired holiday festival in downtown Lincoln, is back for its third year, promising a day of holiday cheer, shopping, and family-friendly activities.

The market — open this Sunday, December 8th, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 727 “O” Street — has become one of Lincoln’s most well-attended festivals. Alicia Reisinger, owner of the Lincoln candle company Wax Buffalo and organizer of the event, attributes the market’s success to a focus on collaboration and community.

“It’s my heart to see more local businesses thrive in Lincoln. It’s such a unique opportunity to come down and support over 150 local businesses all in one day,” she said. “Local makers, stores, and cute little shops essentially reinvent their shop on the streets of the Haymarket.”

Visitors can enjoy local food, drinks, and unique shopping experiences, all while exploring the Haymarket area. This year, the Winter Market introduces new attractions, including a Christmas-themed adventure for children.

“We have a really cool kid adventure that we set up… Kiddos can pre-purchase a beautiful stocking, and then there are places all over the event where they can go have their stockings filled with candy or trinkets,” Reisinger described, likening it to Christmas trick-or-treating.

The festival also features appearances by Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, Buddy the Elf, and the Christmas Chronicle wanderers. A Candyland station sponsored by the Children’s Museum and a performance by the Lincoln Boys Choir will also add to the festive atmosphere.

“It’s a fun place to linger. You can definitely be there all day,” said Reisinger.
