A house fire near 23rd and Washington just before 9:30 Wednesday night forced the evacuation of an adult and child.  LFR Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says when crews arrived they found flames coming from the from the roof and heavy smoke from the eaves.

“The fire started in a second-story bedroom and extended to the exterior of the home,” Lierman says. The fire spread into the attic before crews were able to bring it under control.  There were no injuries were reported and the residents were relocated.

Fire inspectors will be working to determine the cause. Damage is estimated at $100,000 to the home and $50,000 to the contents.
