No. 2 Nebraska saw its 25-match winning streak stopped by No. 4 Penn State, as the Nittany Lions defeated the Huskers 25-21, 14-25, 25-22, 25-23 Friday in University Park, Penn. With the win, Penn State clinches a share of the Big Ten regular-season championship. Nebraska can claim a share of the title with a victory Saturday at Maryland.
But this night belonged to the Nittany Lions. They held Nebraska to a season-low .154 hitting while blocking NU 10 times. The Huskers’ defense was similarly good, holding Penn State to .152 hitting while registering 16 blocks.
Harper Murray led the Huskers with 13 kills and 13 digs. Andi Jackson added 10 kills and a career-high eight blocks. Former Husker Caroline Jurevicius led the Nittany Lions with a career-high 18 kills while hitting .414 to pace Penn State.
