Names of Red Panda Triplets Revealed

By Tom Stanton Nov 27, 2024 | 2:27 PM
The Lincoln Children’s Zoo unveiled the names of the Red Pandas triplets Wednesday afternoon.  The zoo received over a thousand name suggestions from the public and zookeepers narrowed it down to three options.
The names selected  were Juniper, Spruce, and Cedar.  The zoo had asked for holiday/winter themed name suggestions to go along with their holiday light show, since proceeds from Zoo Lights Powered by LES directly supports the animals in the winter months.
You can learn more about the event and purchase your Zoo Lights Powered by LES tickets here: bit.ly/ZooLightsLES.   In 2024, only 12 red panda cubs were born in zoos in North America. This means Juniper, Spruce, and Cedar make up 25% of the cubs born. Zoo officials say their birth is incredibly important for animal conservation efforts of this endangered species.
