Lincoln Police say a 19-year-old man went on a vandalism spree along O Street Wednesday afternoon after getting into a verbal disturbance at the LPS District Office at 59th and O.  Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says the trail of destruction began at 7 Brew Coffee at 56th and O Street just before 1:00.

“He stopped at several businesses along O Street from 56th to 50th Streets, throwing rocks through two business windows and a car windshield,” Thomas says.  “He also picked
up a metal street sign and used it to smash two additional car windshields.”

The total damage is estimated at $2,500 between the five separate victims. He then left in a silver van.  Officers contacted Eric Garrett III at his residence on Thursday where he was
cited and released for five counts of injure or destroy property and disturbing the peace.
