No. 21 Nebraska hit a school record 20 three-pointers in thrashing South Dakota, 113-70, Saturday at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. The 113 points tied the most scored by the Huskers since 1993 and were the fifth-most by Nebraska ever.

Freshman Britt Prince set a new career high with 23 points on 10-for-13 shooting. Natalie Potts matched her career high with 22 points on 8-for-10 shooting. Alexis Markowski added 14 points while dishing up seven assists. Off the bench, Kendall Moriarty and Kendall Coley established new career highs with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

The Huskers raced out to a 7-o to begin the game, as the Coyotes struggled with Nebraska’s pressure. Though USD shrunk NU’s lead to two, Nebraska responded with a 16-3 run to end the quarter while not allowing a field goal the last 5:25 of the quarter to build a 29-18 lead through one quarter. A 14-3 run early in the second quarter removed most of the drama, and the Huskers held a 60-33 halftime lead. 60 points in a half marked the third-highest first-half total in Husker history.

South Dakota’s Grace Larkins led all scorers with 28 while Alexi Hempe tallied 14 for the Coyotes.

Nebraska now prepares to face North Alabama Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30 on B-107.3 and KLIN.
