By Nate Rohr Nov 16, 2024 | 10:20 PM

In under 100 minutes Saturday, No. 2 Nebraska volleyball swept Indiana, 25-12, 25-17, 25-19. The win was the Huskers’ 23rd straight and kept Nebraska undefeated in Big Ten play with two weeks to go in the regular season. It also stretched NU’s home winning streak at the Devaney Center to 40 matches.

The Huskers solidly outhit the Hoosiers, .324-.056 and outblocked them 6-4. Harper Murray paced the Nebraska attack with 10 kills. Rebekah Allick had five kills and five blocks. Andi Jackson had eight kills on .636, while Merritt Beason added eight kills.

The tone was set early in the first set. After IU had taken a 6-5 lead, Nebraska ran an incredible 12 straight points to build a 17-6 lead and erase all doubt in the set. Indiana never drew closer than 10 for the rest of the set. In the second, the Hoosiers tied the set at 12, but the Huskers ran four straight points and six of the next seven points to build an 18-13 lead and cruised from there to victory.

Indiana tied the third set at five, but a five-point Nebraska run built a 10-5 lead and ensured that it would be a short night at the Devaney Center.

The Huskers now prepare to travel to Iowa Wednesday. Pregame coverage is at 5 with first serve at 6 on KLIN and B-107.3.
