Lincoln Transportation and Utilities has announced that South Street between 55th and 56th streets will close beginning Monday for Lincoln Electric System pole replacements. The work is scheduled to be completed by November 21.
Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained. The recommended detour is 48th Street to Normal Boulevard to 56th Street. StarTran Route 40-Heart Hospital will be detoured during the work.
Digital signs will alert traffic to upcoming work and closures.
