Lincoln Fire and Rescue (LFR) crews rushed to Antelope Park just after 4:00 Thursday afternoon after a pickup went off the road on Memorial Drive and flipped onto it’s side in a dry creek bed.
“When we arrived, the patient was still inside the vehicle, but they were able to get out on their own,” LFR Battalion Chief Aaron Pospisil told KLIN News at the scene. “Obviously, it’s in a fairly precarious position when we start thinking about a technical rescue… but with them being able to get out on their own, it makes things a lot easier.”
Pospisil says it’s unknown what caused the truck to leave the road.
The driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
