An annual tradition will continue Saturday for the Home Builders Association of Lincoln. They will be gathering at Lincoln Northeast High School to build wooden toys for children in need. “This year we are building what we call a builder block set,” says spokesman Dan Loeck.
He says the set consists of a variety of wooden blocks that come in a wooden tool box. Lock tells KLIN News 70 of the sets will be given to the Lincoln Police Union Charities. Officers will give them directly to children they encounter during the holidays.
“We look at it from the homebuilders standpoint that this is a good alternative to electronic toys.”
