A missing Lexington man was found dead on Monday at the BNSF Hobson Yard in west Lincoln.
Around 3:30 p.m., Lincoln Police responded to the report of a body found underneath the Highway 77 overpass on the BNSF facility on 801 W. ‘O’ Street.
The body was determined to be 34-year-old Michael Atkins of Lexington, Nebraska, who was reported missing to LPD on September 11, 2024.
LPD says his next-of-kin has been notified.
At this time, investigators say the death does not appear to be suspicious, however the cause and manner of death are still under investigation.
