Lincoln Police Searching for Sorority House Vandals, UNL Campus Car Thief

By Chase Porter Nov 6, 2024 | 12:29 PM

Lincoln Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help in identifying a group of men who accosted a group of women and vandalized a sorority house, and a pair of parking lot car thieves on UNL campus.

The first case occurred around 2 a.m. on October 27, 2024, near Wesleyan Campus in northeast Lincoln.

Three girls were walking back to their sorority house when a truck drove by and the mirror on the truck struck one of the girls in the shoulder.

According to the girls, the males inside the truck began yelling at them. The girls yelled back and a verbal altercation began between them.

Once the girls made it to their building, the three males from the truck walked up to their house, began banging on the door, then ripped the door handle off the door.

A photo provided by a Ring doorbell camera are available below.

The second case occurred around 4:30 a.m. on October 11, 2024, on University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s East Campus near 36th and Apple Street.

Cameras captured two individuals checking car doors and rummaging though vehicles in a parking lot. The pair was able to find a 2003 maroon Ford F-150 with the keys left inside the ignition. The truck was then seen exiting the parking lot.

Police were able to recover the car near 31st and “N” Street just four days later.

Processing on DNA and fingerprints are still pending at this time.

Police are looking for any information about where the now-recovered truck would have been between Oct. 11 to 14, or who might have been in possession of it.

Video and photos are available below.
