It might be a wet return for Husker Football on Saturday with kick off set for 2:30 p.m. against UCLA.
1011 Meteorologist Brad Anderson is advising fans heading to Memorial Stadium to expect some rain, with a 40% chance of showers around kickoff.
“It’s doesn’t look like it’s going to rain the entire game, but I think there could be some passing showers throughout the game, with the chance increasing as we head towards the fourth quarter and after the game,” Anderson said. “Bottom line: Still take the rain gear, because we could still see some of those showers moving through and maybe a rumble of thunder.”
He says temperatures will hover in the upper 50s, near 60 degrees, with a southeast breeze of 10-20 mph throughout the game.
Morning and afternoon tailgates are likely to be spared from rain, but fans with post-game plans may want to consider heading indoors.
“Just be prepared,” concluded Anderson. “That southeast wind is going to be make it feel a little cool, so you’ll still want your jacket, but I don’t think it’s necessarily going to be a cold rain. There will just be a lot of clouds and that chance for wet weather.”
This game will be Nebraska’s first at Memorial Stadium in nearly a month, since a 14-7 win over Rutgers on Oct. 7.
