An Omaha woman was arrested following a pursuit that ended in Lincoln Wednesday morning.  Nebraska State patrol spokesman Cody Thomas says around 10:30 the Cass County Sheriff’s Office was in pursuit of a vehicle that had been driving recklessly and in the wrong lane of traffic on several roads in western Cass County.

After a short pursuit, deputies lost sight of the vehicle.  Just before 11:00 a.m., NSP received information that the person believed to be involved in the previous pursuit may have been causing a disturbance at a gas station in Waverly.

The woman reportedly left the gas station in a vehicle that matched the description of the vehicle that had fled from Cass County deputies. Moments later, a trooper located the vehicle as it was traveling westbound on Highway 6 toward Lincoln.

The trooper attempted a traffic stop, but the driver of the Subaru Legacy refused to yield and continued toward Lincoln. The trooper then gave chase and the Subaru exited Highway 6 onto N. Cotner Boulevard.

Before the vehicle could reach residential streets, the trooper performed a pit maneuver to stop it.  The driver was then taken into custody without incident. Troopers located approximately 24 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

41-year-old Sevelia Cook was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, flight to avoid arrest, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension and refusal to submit to a DUI test.
