Lincoln Police say a teenager was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon in connection with a series of groping incidents in northeast Lincoln over the past month. LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says officers were called to the area of 51st and Madison Avenue after a caller reported seeing a person matching the description of the suspect riding a bicycle.
“Officers contacted the individual near 48th and Huntington Avenue. The investigation determined the 17-year-old juvenile male was the suspect being sought for multiple incidents reported around northeast Lincoln between September 30 and October 29.
LPD says in some cases the suspect grabbed the buttocks of several teenage girls as they were walking and running. He was referred for eight counts of 3rd degree sexual assault and taken to CEDARS Youth Services.
