The University of Nebraska has lost another to Ohio State.

Just over a year after former NU System President Ted Carter moved to OSU for the same role, he announced Tuesday that his interim replacement at NU — Chris Kabourek — will officially join the Buckeyes as senior vice president for administration and planning on Friday, pending approval by the Board of Trustees.

Kabourek, who officially resigned from his role as Chief Financial Officer for NU in September, has worked at Nebraska’s largest higher education institution in a variety of roles for 27 years.

“I worked closely with Chris during my time as president of the Nebraska system and can speak to his considerable skill set, professionalism and collegial approach to our work in higher education,” said Carter said in a letter to OSU.

A native of David City, Nebraska, Kabourek signed his September resignation letter saying “…serving my alma mater has been the honor of a lifetime, and I will always be cheering for the University’s continued success.”
