Kids in costumes and plenty of candy will highlight the annual Lincoln Police Union Trunk or Treat event Tuesday night at the Sandhills Global Event Center. “It’s a great opportunity to trick-or-treat in a safe, indoor environment while meeting our city, county and state first responders and city employees,” says LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas.
“Last year we had thousands of kids and parents who dressed up in Halloween costumes and we’re expecting another big turnout this year.” There will displays from the Lincoln
Police Department, Lincoln Fire and Rescue, Lincoln Animal Control, Lincoln City Council, Lincoln Parks and Recreation, UNLPD, Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office,
Lancaster County Corrections and Nebraska State Patrol.
Emergency vehicles will be decorated and officers and firefighters will be passing out candy. The free event runs from 4-8 p.m.
