We are two weeks away from election day and Lancaster County Election Commissioner Todd Wiltgen says tens of thousands of ballots have already been cast. “So far we’ve issued 53,000 ballots, both in person and by mail and we’ve received just over 31,000 who have voted in office or who have returned an early ballot.”
Wiltgen says those numbers don’t compare to 2020 when a record 87,000 people voted early. “But I think it is good where we’re at right now and hopefully the pace continues through election day and I think we’ll have a good turnout.”
Wiltgen tells KLIN News foot traffic has been brisk at his office and he urges people to be patient. He says there have seen lines out the door right at they open, over the lunch hour and just before the office closes.
The last day to vote in person is November 4th. The office is open from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. The office will also be open to early voters from 8:00 am to noon on Saturday, October 26 and Saturday, November 2. Wiltgen says they will also be open from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm on Monday, November 4.
