Damage is estimated at $300,000 following a house fire near 27th and Yankee Hill Road Sunday afternoon. Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says crews arrived 2524 Wilderness Ridge Circle around 2:20 p.m.
“Some shrubs and bushes next to the house were on fire. The outdoor electrical box had failed and caused the mulch to ignite and then the shrubs with the dry conditions.” Lierman says the fire burned up the side of the house and into the soffits and attic space.
The fire was quickly contained and caused about $250,000 in damage to home and $50,000 to contents. No one was injured.
