A northwest Lincoln hydraulics company will be filling a shipping container with donations this week to help those affected by recent hurricanes along the southeast coast.
The container will be posted outside Central States Hydraulic Services (201 NW 28th St #1) through 8 p.m. on Friday, October 18.
The below flyer contains a list of the supplies needed.
When filled, the trailer will be sent to Erwin, North Carolina where an Omaha Rapid Response team deployed in the area will ensure further distribution to where needed most.
Additionally, Central States is seek help to offset the $3,700 freight cost which the company has agreed to pay in the event they come up short of monetary donations.
This generous act is a partnership with Old Dominion who supplied the container and will transport all that is gathered.
Daily hours to accept donations will be from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.— or until the trailer is filled.
This idea began when Central States’ Inventory Manager Morgan Templemeyer saw videos of the wreckage in affected areas, and decided she needed to do something to help.
In terms of highest impact donation items, Templemeyer emphasized the food and supplies for farm animals and said they will not accept clothing donations.
“They are just getting too much of it,” she said.
