Lincoln Police released an update Friday on the case of a man accused of ditching his bicycle and stealing a car from Laundry Land near 27th and Holdrege Tuesday night. “On Wednesday right around 7:15 p.m. a Nebraska State Patrol Trooper located the vehicle near MM413 east of Waverly,” LPD Captain Todd Kocian says.
“The Trooper found the vehicle stopped along the interstate and contacted 50-year-old John Chan in the driver’s seat.” Chan was arrested for theft by receiving stolen property and possession of a
deadly weapon by a prohibited person.
The 2009 Nissan Versa was returned to the owner with no damage.
