Lincoln Police say more than $300 was taken from a 41-year-old woman’s bank account after receiving a call on Tuesday. Captain Todd Kocian says the woman told them the caller ID showed it was Wells Fargo.

“The person on the other end said there had been some fraudulent activity on her account and she was asked to confirm some confirmation codes that had been sent to her phone,” Kocian says. After doing so, she noticed $372 had been removed from her account.”

The woman contacted Wells Fargo and advised her she was the victim of a scam. “We would again like to remind everyone to please confirm the validity of these types of requests before providing any personal or account information,” Kocian says.
