Governor Pillen Orders Flags To Be Flown at Half-Staff Today

By Mark Vail Oct 7, 2024 | 5:15 AM

Today is the one-year anniversary of the attack which killed 1,200 men, women and children in Israel.  More than 250 were taken hostage and of those, over 100 are still missing, including four Americans.

U.S. and Nebraska flags are to be flown at half-staff today from sunrise to sunset to honor the victims of the terror attack on Israel.

The directive to lower flags is the latest action by Gov. Pillen in recognition and remembrance of last year’s orchestrated attack on Israel by Hamas.  The Governor will meet with representatives from Nebraska’s Jewish community as they gather to commemorate the terror attack.  He will also issue a proclamation marking the anniversary and reiterating Nebraska’s unwavering support for Israel and its condemnation of antisemitism and terrorism.
