Junior middle blocker and Lincoln native Rebekah Allick was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week the conference announced Monday.
Allick averaged two blocks per set as the No. 2 Huskers swept Illinois and Iowa, running NU’s winning streak to 11 matches. Against the Illini Thursday, Allick stuffed nine blocks and added four kills while hitting .300. Then at home yesterday against Iowa, Allick tallied three blocks and nine kills, hitting .583 while helping Nebraska hold Iowa to .155 hitting.
This is Allick’s second honor of the year, as she also earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week Sept. 2.
